44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.46For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (KJV)
Nobody is perfect. We are just human. What do you call that? You call that the get out of living righteous for the Father free card. It is clearly stated in verse 48 as a commandment and "be"is definitely an imperative verb. Its not easy but has to be practiced. Christ attributes perfection to loving our enemies as well as those who are our friends or those who are kind to us. It is the same love which affects are mentioned by Paul in Romans 13:10
"Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law".
Our neighbors are not categorized by friendly, evil, good, or bad. Neighbor as God sees it is everyone on the planet other than ourselves. I pray that we strive everyday to "getter done" and let love rule.
