Fair is fair.

People may say life isn’t fair. God is. He operates from His throne in sovereignty and justice. He extends His mercy to us and expects the same thing of us. I like the Kingdom parable Jesus uses in Matthew 18:23-35 with the king who shows mercy on one of his subjects who owes him a large amount of money and this same guy who is pardoned from the king leaves and sees a man that owes him a small amount and chokes the guy out. He demands he pay him back even after the dude pleads for mercy. It is the same with us when we want forgiveness from God but yet hold resentment or unforgivness in our heart for a family member, former co-worker, employer, classmate, ex-significant other or who ever. We should take inventory of our hearts and search it and release that debt of stubbornness and pride. We can even ask God to help us recollect our memory for the sort. We ask God for forgiveness for what we have done and have expectations of His mercy. We should distribute equally the same mercy and forgiveness.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy

Matthew 6:14,15 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
